Please check your CPU temp, the normal cpu temp should be 33-59 C, if over 60C, it considers as overheated. The reason only one core is working sometimes is you still have the "green" stuff on I'm guessing. i know its not my PSU because its an 850w xfx. On the other hand, the quad-core 2600K is the fastest CPU in almost all of those games mentioned by PCGamesHardware.
