The question now is, is it a bad graphics card or something wrong with my setup (ie. I am getting more an more convinced however that there is a problem in UFO when using certain GeForce cards (mine is GTS 250). Turned out in both cases it was a malware program causing the issue.
Maybe after SP1 who knows? Luckily, the admin logs Win 7 keeps helped pinpoint the trouble and I updated the graphics drivers from the Video Card manufacturer - problem solved. I have tried reinstalling the drivers on the CD that came with the graphics card, but this didn't seem to help. Kernel mode crashes have typically two causes: 1) bugs in drivers OR 2) hardware failure.
