The failure to capture memory dumps may or may not be related to this.
I did, however, find a text document within the temp files that was generated around the same time as the crash. Unreliable RAM, in particular, is deadly as far as software is concerned, and anything other than a 100% clear memory test result is cause for concern. I even checked for corrupted windows files by running "sfc /scannow" on the command prompt; no corrupted files were found.
