Win 7 64 Bit Slows Down When Internet Fails
Where can I file a complaint? Suggestions? I don't surf the Web much so I don't get bugs or anything like that. If, with Win 8.1 and earlier, you allow "updates" to install as and when MS sees fit, then yes.Win 10 is a 'recommended' update. have a peek here
Before doing this all of my programs were suffering of slow network speed. Mine is 2 years old, and has had some acceptable slow downs, but the boot-to-password-screen time has stayed around 30 seconds or so. All virus scan results find no infections. I don't surf the Web much so I don't get bugs or anything like that. Nothing works. In my case, the slowdown seems to have been the result of (1) the fact that I didn't update for a long time, and/or (2) the Windows Update Service itself.
I do really agree that this is a highly suspicious timing. First program I start is Resource Monitor, which always shows only like 1-3% CPU activity, yet for some reason icons are unresponsive for the first 1-5 minutes after boot up. It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. Have windows 10 Have failed updates. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support. the Vista installation doesn't get used much, as I said before, and was working acceptably before.I get a feeling that there is just so much background stuff that gets triggered by Slow Lan Speed I understand I think most of it. Slowness/slugginess is one of them. My desktop Internet access particularly had slowed right down.

Happened to me at work about two weeks ago (I use standby mode as long as possible, so updates are delayed), and right now I'm facing it at my girlfriend's laptop.
